We were south of the river and enjoying our view of the shard and we visited this Spoons on a cold wintry night.
The christmas decorations were already up which was festive feeling.
We subbed our usual kronie for bottles of the Russian lager we discovered on our last visit to a new Spoons, Baxter’s Court.
This pub was apparently the former Tower Bridge Hotel, it is an absolutely stunning behemoth of a building, oozing Victorian grandeur.
The pub takes its name from the area’s centuries-old connection with the leather trade. The staff in here were really lovely and welcoming and brightened up our dreary dark evening.
The loos were nothing special, and down many stairs so they were also tough on our old knees which was disappointing.
This is a beautiful Spoons, but too far out of our way to justify us visiting again in the near future.
